Synopsis
The Amgen Tour of California returns to the Conejo Valley this weekend, Sunday, May 18 from 8am-12pm. If you live anywhere near the race route, you should take note of how traffic will work, and plan for rolling 10 minute delays. The race will consist of three 21 mile circuits and three 4.5 mile circuits. The “Sprint” circuit goes around Westlake Lake, and the finish line is located on Townsgate Road (in front of Gelsons Market and Brent’s Deli). Race begins at 8 am. Live broadcast 10am-Noon on NBC

Lakeview Canyon Rd. @ Agoura Rd
Westlake Blvd from Townsgate Rd. to Carlisle Rd.
Triunfo Canyon Rd. from Three Springs Drive to Westlake Blvd.
HARD CLOSURES During race:
Westlake Blvd. southbound at Potrero Rd.,
Westlake Blvd. northbound at Agoura Rd./Hampshire Rd.
– then expanding to Triunfo Canyon Rd. during the small circuit.

Traffic Flow and Impacts All times are approximations
8 11 am (Rock Store Loops)
Cyclists will first do three laps around the Rock Store loop (45 minutes each). Agoura Road into the Santa Monica Mountains
Rolling closures along the route as the caravan approaches
11 11:45 am (Westlake Lake Sprint Finish)
Cyclists will rapidly travel around Westlake Lake in clockwise direction
Residents will be able to drive in counter-clockwise direction
Ingress and egress from streets inside the loop will be limited during this 45 minute period
Motorists will be briefly directed in/out as riders pass during each lap
Access ways for emergency service vehicles will be preserved and given priority
General Tips for watching the race
Arrive early. The race begins at 8:45 AM.
Bike or walk to the event if you can. There will be a bike valet at the Southwest corner of Village Glen and Townsgate and will be available free of charge, courtesy of Westlake Cyclery.
If you are driving, please use the Baxter campus lot on Lakeview Canyon Road, just north of the 101 Freeway.
The Sprint Finish around Westlake Lake will be likely be from 10:45 AM to noon. Access to streets and driveways near the Lake area will be limited during this time. Residents should avoid driving near the race route during this time if at all possble.
The Farmers Market on Village Glen will still be open from 8 AM onwards, as usual.
Partial road closures on Townsgate and Village Glen will begin on Saturday
Where can you park?
Parking near the finish line will be limited and available on first-come, first-serve basis. Those driving to the event are encouraged to make use of free parking at the Baxter campus on Lakeview Canyon Road. Those riding bicycles to the event can make use of the free bike valet at corner of Townsgate and Village Glen, hosted by Westlake Cyclery.
Will streets be closed?
Throughout the race, there will be “rolling closures” as the racers move throughout the route. Near the finish line footprint, Townsgate will be closed to traffic. Around the perimeter of Westlake Lake, motorists will be restricted to traveling in the counter-clockwise direction from about 11am to Noon.
What is the race route?
Riders will first make three large loops up the famous Rock Store climb (8am to 11am) and descend back down through Decker Canyon and Westlake Boulevard. After the third loop, riders will continue onto a Sprint Finish with three small loops around the Westlake Lake (11am to Noon).

· SAT 8:00 AM: Street closures on portions of Townsgate and Village Glen. Access to Gelsons from westernmost driveway will be open.
· SAT 8:00 PM: Construction/staging to begin inside of private parking lots, once parking lot is cleared.
· SUN 5:30 AM: Festival Vendor load in
· SUN 7:15 AM: Teams begin to arrive
· SUN 7:45 AM: Chairmans Ride begins
· SUN 8:00 AM: Festival open
· SUN 8:45 AM: Race begins
· SUN 10:45 AM: Small Lake Loops (Sprint Finish) estimated to begin
· SUN 12:30 PM: Hospitality and Festival closes
· SUN 1:30 PM: Cleaning crews on site
