With the election coming up in November, we’re proud to tell you that there will be a Candidates Forum (aka “debate”) for the three candidates running for the Westlake Village City Council. The forum is sponsored by:
* Westlake Revelations
* Oak Forest HOA
* League of Women Voters
* Westlake Village Boy Scout Troop 485
The event will be held at Oak Forest (on Triunfo near Lindero) in the Oak Forest Estates Clubhouse, on:
Monday, October 3, 2011, at 7pm
All three candidates have confirmed that they will attend.
Like the 2007 debate, the structure of the debate will be as follows:
* Candidates will be randomly ordered for statements, and on a rotating order for questions
* Each candidate will have an opening and a closing statement
* Westlake Revelations will gather questions/topics from the community as the basis for moderator questions
* Audience participants may be able ask questions, time permitting
Obviously, Westlake Revelations be moderating the debate to avoid inappropriate conflict, to keep it interesting and within time limits, and avoid duplication of topics/questions.
Over the next few weeks, think about what questions you would like to be asked, and send them in to us. Questions will remain confidential, including the source, and if representative of the community and appropriate, we’ll look to include them as part of the debate.
