The Board of Directors of Cabrillo Music Theatre (CMT) has announced that as a change from a recent announcement, it will move forward with its 2016-2017 season.  Through a combination of donations, focusing on the three larger venue shows, and some “re-tooling” of the organization, the Board has created a plan it believes will allow CMT to operate in a fiscally responsible way. As part of it’s retooling, Cabrillo Music Theatre’s Board has elected a new Board Chair and some new Board officers, and is embarking on a new business planning process to ensure the long term viability of CMT.

The 2016-2017 season will include three shows: EVITA, SISTER ACT, and PETER PAN, all in the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.  In the interest of fiscal responsibility, CMT is removing TARZAN, which was to take place in the smaller Scherr Forum, from the schedule.

The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza box office will be processing refunds for TARZAN beginning May 15th. If ticket holders feel so inclined to donate the value of the tickets for TARZAN, please contact Cabrillo at (805) 497-8613. Cabrillo is very grateful to the community for its support.

The current 2015-2016 season has two shows remaining. “Children of Eden” opens Friday and runs through April 17 and “The Little Mermaid” will run from July 15-24.

According to CMT, Season Members save up to 50% over individual ticket buyers.  Priority Order Memberships for new members for the Cabrillo Music Theatre 2016-2017 season are being taken now by calling Cabrillo Music Theatre at (805) 497-8613 X 6, or by writing to member@cabrillomusictheatre.com or see http://www.cabrillomusictheatre.com
