It will be the public’s chance to meet the candidates and see them discuss the important issues that face the newly formed 26th District, which includes Westlake Village and most of Ventura County.

The candidates, in alphabetical order, are Julia Brownley, Democrat, 41st District State Assembly member; Albert Goldberg, Democrat, Realtor from Ventura; Jess Herrera, Democrat, Oxnard Harbor District commissioner; Linda Parks, independent, Ventura County supervisor; Tony Strickland, Republican,19th District State Senator; and David Cruz Thayne, Democrat, businessman from Westlake Village. All have committed to attend.

The top two vote-getters in the June 5 primary will advance to the general election in November. The debate will be taped for re-broadcast by way of Time Warner’s Video on Demand service.

The public is invited to attend, but seating is on a first-come basis.
