Our friends at the Acorn want to reach out to Westlake Revelations readers about the upcoming Congressional District candidates’ forum on Monday. Full invite is below.

Invitation

The Acorn Newspapers— in partnership with California Lutheran University and Time Warner Cable—will host a candidates’ forum at 7 p.m. Mon., May 7 inside CLU’s Lundring Events Center (next to Gilbert gym) for the 26th U.S. Congressional District race.

It will be the public’s chance to meet the candidates and see them discuss the important issues that face the newly formed 26th District, which includes Westlake Village and most of Ventura County.

The candidates, in alphabetical order, are Julia Brownley, Democrat, 41st District State Assembly member; Albert Goldberg, Democrat, Realtor from Ventura; Jess Herrera, Democrat, Oxnard Harbor District commissioner; Linda Parks, independent, Ventura County supervisor; Tony Strickland, Republican,19th District State Senator; and David Cruz Thayne, Democrat, businessman from Westlake Village. All have committed to attend.

The top two vote-getters in the June 5 primary will advance to the general election in November. The debate will be taped for re-broadcast by way of Time Warner’s Video on Demand service.

The public is invited to attend, but seating is on a first-come basis.
