The City has announced the Westlake Village Chalk Art Festival, June 18th, as the kick off of 30th anniversary celebrations this year. Two contests have been announced for both kids and adults to participate in. See full announcement for more details.

The City of Westlake Village will celebrate it?s 30th Anniversary with a series of events this summer and fall. The first event, the Chalk Art Festival will take place on Saturday, June 18 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Westlake Village Civic Center and is being hosted in conjunction with the Westlake Village Library. The 3rd Annual Chalk Walk Festival will feature: a chalk art program; hands-on craft booths; free photography classes by local photographer Viktor Budnik; a display from the Regional Art Museum featuring local artists; and a fundraising tile making project for White Oak Elementary. Hungry patrons may purchase food from gourmet food truck ?Rock Chef Rolls? throughout the event.

As part of the 30th Anniversary celebration, the City will be offering two contests; the 30th logo contest for children and a 30th anniversary photography contest. Students grades K-5 can participate in the logo contest at the Chalk Art Festival hands-on craft booth area and continue with participation offered throughout the summer. The winning logo will be reproduced on the City?s 30 th Anniversary button, which will be distributed at upcoming City events. The Chalk Art Festival photography workshops will be offered at 9:00 am for families and at 11:30 am for adults to help prepare residents interested in entering the City?s 30th Anniversary photography contest. There will be four theme categories and entries will be open to both the children and adult aged groups. Winners will be selected in October and photographs will be displayed at the final 30th Anniversary ?Winter Wonderland? event on December 11.
