The Westlake Village Community Foundation has just made the following announcement:

WESTLAKE VILLAGE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR MUSIC AND PERFORMING ARTS STUDENTS

The Westlake Village Community Foundation is currently accepting applications for the 2013 Westlake Village Community Foundation Scholarship program. This year, the Foundation is offering two (2) $1,000 scholarships to graduating senior students of Agoura High School, who have had significant involvement in either the Music program or the Performing Arts program at Agoura High School. To be eligible, the student must be a resident of the City of Westlake Village and have plans to attend a four-year university, a community college, or arts college in the coming year. The award is intended to help cover expenses related to the student’s continuing education.

Interested Agoura High School seniors are asked to fill out an application available on the City’s website www.wlv.org or by visiting City Hall. The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Applicants must be available for an interview during the week of May 6. All interviews will be arranged ahead of time and after 3:30 pm to accommodate school schedules.

The scholarships will be awarded based on commitment to and demonstrated excellence in Music or Performing Arts at Agoura High School. Additional criteria may include academic achievement, school service, community service, interview, and financial need.

The Westlake Village Community Foundation is dedicated to promote and provide charitable, cultural, and educational activities, programs and services for the benefit of those who live in the City of Westlake Village.
