This weekend not only has the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 with a variety of events taking place in the area, but also a couple of other community events on Saturday: Triunfo YMCA Family Program signups, and an End-of-Summer Picnic and Fall-Into-School Supply Drive.

From 10am-2pm, at Berniece Bennet Park (First Neighborhood) in Westlake Village, there’s an “End-of-Summer Picnic and Fall-Into-School Supply Drive” to donate school supplies to the Las Virgenes Unified School District. The community is encouraged to bring unwrapped school supplies: highlighters; paper; pencils; Kleenex; Handi-Wipes; glue sticks; Post-it Notes; construction paper; and white and lined paper to donate. Hosts Lydia Gable of Prudential Realty and Rick Winters of Winters Financial Group are sponsoring the event with complimentary glitter tatooes, Shave It beverages, an obstacle course, and more. Those with schedule conflicts that would like to donate, are encouraged to contact Lydia Gable (818.383.4335) or Rick Winters (805.497.1717).

For those families with children ages 4 through 12 years old, the Triunfo YMCA is holding their annual signup BBQ for their “Family Programs” including Indian Papooses, Indian Guides/Princesses, and Trailblazer programs. These programs are specifically designed for dads and kids (Pre-K through 6th grade). The sign-Up BBQ is this Saturday from 4-7pm at Willow Elementary, 29026 Laro Drive, Agoura Hills.
