There is a fire burning near Highway 101 and Hampshire in Thousand Oaks. It was reported just after 2pm, and is on the south side of the freeway. The Ventura County Fire Department has sent a full brush response including fire engines, copters and dozers. Water is being picked up by helicopters in the Las Virgenes Reservoir in Westlake Village. More than 75 firefighters are now on scene or in route. The fire is currently at about 5 acres, spreading moderately in light to medium brush.
The fire is moving slowly.
