FUTURE FOUNDATION TO PRESENT
WATER CRISIS SYMPOSIUM

CALABASAS, CA – Save the date: the Conejo/Las Virgenes Future Foundation will be hosting an informational symposium entitled “Water Crisis… You Can Be The Solution” on Sunday, November 15 from 11AM-4PM at the Agoura Hills / Calabasas Community Center.

The free educational event is designed to arm residents of the region with critical information about the current water crisis in California, and will feature public workshops on efficient irrigation design, drought-resistant landscaping, and fire-wise landscaping.

“As Californians, we know our state continues to receive less rainfall as in past years. The occasional heavy rainstorms we have received cannot make up for several years of drought California has experienced. It is important that we all try to conserve our precious state resource and assist our local water districts in any aspect we can. This symposium is designed to provide some insight to the region’s residents on the issues and impacts faced by local water agencies, to inform citizens about methods available to conserve water, and to discuss how we can work together to be more water-wise,” notes Louis Celaya, CLVFF event chair and Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Agoura Hills.

The event will be sponsored by, among others, the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, the Calleguas Municipal Water District, and the California Water Service Company, and will include a vendor fair featuring local businesses and agencies offering water conservation products and services. The Agoura Hills / Calabasas Community Center is sponsoring the event location.

Vendors or groups interested in having an information table at the event are invited to contact the CLVFF office at (818) 880-1054. Community members are encouraged to participate in the forward-looking activities of the Conejo/Las Virgenes Future Foundation by attending CLVFF events or by joining the organization.
