Synopsis

Las Virgenes Unified School District announced today that it has named Eric Anhalt as the new principal at White Oak Elementary School in Westlake Village. Mr. Anhalt has served as assistant principal at Lindero Canyon Middle School since 2012, and before that, he was Assistant Principal at Calabasas High School from 2007 to 2012.

The Las Virgenes Unified School District, its Board of Directors and its leadership team proudly announce the appointment of Eric Anhalt to the position of principal for White Oak Elementary School, beginning in the 2014-2015 school year. Mr. Anhalt is a highly-regarded veteran teacher and administrator with Las Virgenes Unified School District. As principal of White Oak Elementary School, he will assume the day-to-day responsibilities of the supervising instructor, focusing on student achievement at the Pre-K through 5th Grade school located in Westlake Village, CA.

Mr. Anhalt has served as assistant principal at Lindero Canyon Middle School since 2012. There he conducted teacher and classified employee evaluations, administered IEP Coverage and Compliance and supervised the Disaster Emergency Plan and Drills and Law Enforcement initiatives. He also successfully deployed a school-wide Positive Behavior Student Recognition Plan, was instrumental in securing funding for Lindero’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) Program and launched Lindero’s Online Student Store.

Prior to his tenure as Lindero’s Assistant Principal, Anhalt served as Assistant Principal at Calabasas High School from 2007 to 2012, where he directed the athletic department, student activities programs and student discipline plans, and piloted technology acquisition and implementation at the school. Eric Anhalt began his career in education in 2002 at Lindero Canyon Middle School as a math and social science teacher. He later moved to Calabasas High, working as a history teacher and taking on such leadership roles as 504 Coordinator and Dean of Attendance and Discipline.

Eric Anhalt earned his B.A. in Organizational Behavior from Stanford University, and his M.B.A from Pepperdine University. He continued his education at California Lutheran University, adding teaching and administrative credentials to his portfolio.

Las Virgenes Unified School District’s Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Daniel Stepenosky, congratulated Mr. Anhalt and said, “Eric has earned a reputation as a sensitive and effective communicator. His extensive experience working and collaborating with students, parents, teachers and administrators has prepared him very well for this next role. We are thrilled to have Eric lead the White Oak Elementary School community!”

Las Virgenes Unified School District serves approximately 11,100 students from Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills and the Los Angeles County portion of Westlake Village.
