Some of you have noticed that there are construction fences up around the old Westlake Hospital site. HCA (the owner of the sites, as well as Los Robles Hospital) has determined that the old hospital buildings on Lakeview Canyon should be demolished. Work is about to begin to remove the buildings.
The first phase will be the removal of asbestos and any other hazardous materials from the building, as well as the removal of an underground storage fuel tank. These two items should be completed by mid to late February. After that, the building will be demolished. The project should be complete by the end of April.
The demolition efforts will only affect the buildings on the site. The main parking lot on Lakeview Canyon Road will remain intact.
HCA has consistently been quiet on their plans for the site. Westlake Revelations has renewed an inquiry into HCA about plans for the site.
