As Westlake Revelations readers know, council member Philippa Klessig stepped down in March when she moved away from the area. Several weeks later, the Westlake Village City Council voted to leave the seat vacant. That seat, along with council member Ned Davis’ seat, for a total of two seats are up for election this coming November 3rd.

The nomination period for candidates to file their papers and candidate statements for this election is July 13 through August 7, 2015. Those interested in more information about running for a City Council member position should contact the City Clerk, Beth Schott (818) 706-1613.

Three Springs resident and City of Westlake Village Cultural Recreation Advisory Board member Kelly Honig has already announced that she will be a candidate for this election.

Las Virgenes Municipal Water District has no elections this year.

Las Virgenes Unified School District will have two seats up for election — those currently occupied by board members Jill Gaines and Cindy Iser. Like the City of Westlake Village, the nomination period for candidates to file their papers and candidate statements for this election is July 13 through August 7, 2015. Those interested in more information about running for a board member position should contact LVUSD at 818-880-4000.

Cindy Iser has already announced that this, her 14th year on the LVUSD school board, will be her last and will not be seeking re-election. Jill Gaines has also just confirmed that she will not be seeking re-election. This would mean that there are no incumbents in the election.
