This weekend, on Saturday, January 19 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm (rain or shine), the “3rd Annual Winter Wonderland Charity Event” at Three Springs Park in Westlake Village. Those attending are encouraged to bring gently used children or adult coats to benefit CASA Pacifica in Camarillo. This is a family event with winter crafts, games, coffee and smoothies — and this year, event organizers are again bringing back snow.

CASA Pacifica is a center that provides emergency shelter, medical and other community-based interventions to families in need. Visit http://casapacifica.org/ to learn more. All kinds of coats and winter wear are welcome including coats, sweaters, hoodies, mittens/gloves, winter hats and scarves.

According to organizers, “Last year, over 650 coats were donated. There are 1,936 adults and children who are homeless on a given day in Ventura County, a 3% increase to last year, according to the Ventura County Homeless and Housing Coalition. Your coat donation will help CASA Pacifica provide youth and their families this basic necessity for the cold winter months ahead.”

The event is sponsored by Lydia Gable of Prudential Realty (818.383.4335) and Rick Winters of Winters Financial Group (805.497.1717). If you have a schedule conflict, or would like to donate at other times, contact Lydia or Rick directly.
