CITY OF WESTLAKE VILLAGE 30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION CONCLUDES WITH A WINTER WONDERLAND EVENT

The City of Westlake Village has been celebrating its 30th Anniversary throughout 2011 with special programs all leading up to the final Winter Wonderland event on December 11. Starting at 1:00 pm, Berniece Bennett Park, located at 31800 Village Center Drive, will be transformed into a winter playground for sledding, snow angel and snowman building, and target snowball throwing activities. Additional activities include a holiday cookie decorating station for the first 1,000 people in attendance and a winter-themed train ride.

Special commemorative anniversary knit hats will be given away to the first 500 people in attendance. Residents will have an opportunity to purchase hot chocolate and coffee as a fundraiser for the Triunfo YMCA, and Chile and Quesadillas from local restaurant “The Latigo Kid.” Students from White Oak Elementary School, Lindero Canyon Middle School, Agoura High School, Oaks Christian, and Cal Lutheran University will be providing musical entertainment throughout the event.

At the conclusion of the event at 5:00 pm, everyone will be invited to attend a cake, cider, and champagne reception at the First Neighborhood Center. The reception will include a 30th anniversary logo and photo contest winner gallery, and a City historical display. The reception will conclude at 7:00 pm.
