Last night, the Las Virgenes Unified School District Board of Education met in a well-attended study session to discuss the proposed LVUSD Technology Strategy. After a 20-minute presentation giving an overview of the strategy, the Board discussed the strategy, and in particular, the Chief Technology Officer position at the heart of the strategy.

After questions from the audience, the Board ultimately gave direction to the District to prepare a job description, as well as to review the proposal on how to pay for the position through the existing technology budget funded by the Four Cities (Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Agoura Hills, and Westlake Village). These two items will be discussed at a future Board meeting.

(Editor’s Note: I was surprised to hear rumors recently that I, personally, am looking to be hired for this position. That certainly was news to me! While an exciting role, I am not interested in this position. It wouldn’t make any sense given the existing businesses I’m both CEO of and shareholder in. I will continue working on our existing consulting, magazine publishing, and DealCards businesses. – Neil Ticktin)
